What EXACTLY Does God Want Us To DO?

Jesus answered, “I tell you for certain that you are not looking for me because you saw the miracles, but because you ate all the food you wanted.

Don’t work for food that spoils. Work for food that gives eternal life. The Son of Man will give you this food, because God the Father has given him the right to do so.”

“What exactly does God want us to do?” the people asked. Jesus answered, “God wants you to have faith in the one he sent.”
John 6:26-29

That’s all there is to it! It can be difficult for a lot of us to comprehend because we live in a world where we have to prove ourselves or work in order to receive goods or payment.But God offers us the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ for free! The only thing that is required of us is to accept this gift by

• Acknowledging that you are a sinner in need of a Savior
• Asking Jesus for forgiveness of your sins
• Follow in the footsteps of Jesus and trust Him

The last bullet point is a learning process so don’t beat yourself down. We learn to follow Jesus and trust Him as we grow in our faith by praying to Him daily and reading the Word of God.
By reading the Word of God, we learn about how Jesus wants us to live.

But the point is, this gift is free without any works on your part aside from putting your faith in Jesus.

So you might be thinking, “What do you mean no works are required? We don’t have to help people, take care of them, or do kind and generous acts?”

The short answer is, “no.” Those kind acts are evidence of faith. What does that mean? It means that once you put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will then be filled with the Holy Spirit and you will be prompted to do good works for others.
